Rebecca "Becka" Pogoda has been practicing as a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2013. Becka obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2008 from The University of New Hampshire with a minor in Psychology. In Becka's early nursing career she focused on caring for children and adolescents in an inpatient medical, surgical and psychiatric stabilization unit at The Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver, CO. Through this experience, Becka became very passionate about the mental health and emotional well being of children and families. Becka graduated from The University of Colorado, Denver in 2013 with a Master's in Nursing with a focus in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice. Becka is board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center to see patients of all ages, holds a current Montana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license with prescriptive authority and a DEA license. 

 

When Becka is not providing clinical care you can find her teaching at Montana State University where she is the Program Lead for the Psychiatric Mental Health Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Much of the focus of her teaching is in psychopharmacology, assessment and diagnosis of mental illness, ethics and law related to nursing/medical practice, APRN role and more. Becka is very passionate about the equal and adequate treatment of mental illness and has been fortunate to be involved in increasing the workforce in Montana and across the nation through her work at MSU. 

 

For fun, Becka enjoys spending time with her husband, her son and their Australian Shepherd, Juniper. Skiing, camping, fishing, photography and reading are some of the activities she enjoys.
